Welcome
to 2009! There's no way better to enter the new year but with a
set of fierce Hustle workshops. These workshops are designed to
take the basic Hustle you've already experience and take it to the next
level. Many questions regarding connection, usage of hips and
frame, foot placement for turns will be answered in detail. The
final workshops will add some fun moves for you to work on.
What I love about these workshops is that
they're meant to supplement the Hustle experience you may already have.
It will be fun, challenging and best of all, it might satisfy one of
your New Year's Resolutions - to improve your dancing. |

Hustle - Connection, Hips & Footwork
Detail Level: Adv-Beginner
This workshops is about
refining some of the details so that your dance becomes fierce
from it's most basic steps. Did you know that a good
Hustle dance actually feels "light"?...it's doesn't pull at all.
Did you know that the "engine" of the dance comes from the
follower's hips. The usage of the hips and the leader's
understanding of how to manipulate the follower's hips makes the
dance powerful.
This class will work on
concepts that are usually only addressed in private lessons.
As micro-focused as this class is, we will keep it light and fun
and make sure that we give you plenty of macro and expanded uses
for your new-found connection.
This class is perfect for new
beginners through advanced level dancers. Beginners learn
connection, Advanced dancers are always relearning/refining
connection. It's the holy grail of dance.
* Requirements:
You must know the basics of Hustle (Cross Body,
Open Throw-Out, Under-arm Turn, Wheel, Under-The-Bridge).

Hustle - 1 1/2 Turns, Wraps, &
Style
Level: Beginner - Intermediate
One of the most challenging steps
for Hustle dancers is the Wrap. Without a clean Wrap, it
is difficult to have a solid-beginner dance.
This class will break down the
foot work for both the leader and follower. It will give
special attention to the followers 1 1/2 turn placement.
Once the Wrap turn is
functioning, arm styling will begin to be incorporated.
* Requirements:
You must know the basics of Hustle and ideally the material from
Workshop #1.
