historic journey to St. Petersburg,
Russia, the birthplace of its
founder, celebrated choreographer
George Balanchine (1904-1983).
The eagerly anticipated trip is
marked by behind-the-scenes drama as
the company rehearses and performs
in the legendary Mariinsky Theatre.
The captivating High Definition
documentary features interviews with
Ballet Master in Chief Peter
Martins, former and current New York
City Ballet dancers and artistic
staff. The film also contains
extraordinary performance footage of
works by Balanchine, Martins and
