Woman dropped on head alleges
'negligent dancing' |
|
CHICAGO, Illinois (AP) -- A
woman is suing her dance partner,
claiming he dropped her on her head
after flipping her into the air at
an office party.
Lacey
Hindman, 22, was a victim of
"negligent dancing," says her
lawyer, David M. Baum.
In
the suit, Hindman claims that during
a party at a Chicago bar and
restaurant in April 2006, David
Prange grabbed her by the forearms
and tossed her in the air, and then
she crashed to the wood floor.

Dancers say
ballroom workout rivals one in the
gym any day |

Ah, the
power of dance. It's featured weekly
on the ABC show "Dancing With the
Stars," which recently began its
third round of competition featuring
professional dancers and
entertainers.
At the
weekly Sunday night dance at the
Elks Lodge in North Raleigh, N.C.,
more than 200 people typically show
up for swing dancing and the
occasional ballroom or salsa
interlude. Some are serious dancers,
like the trim woman in floral top
and black skirt whose face projects
a determination to execute each move
perfectly. Some just love to let
themselves go to the music and may
dance with a dozen or more partners
over the course of the evening. And
some may also have amore in the back
of their minds.
"We've had 30 couples who've met
with us and gotten married," says
Wes Boz, who, with his wife, Debbie,
co-owns Mad About Dance Academy,
sponsor of this weekly event.
Whatever their motivation, they're
all getting one thing: a good
workout.
"The
whole body is involved," says Lydia
Rijos, an avid local salsa
enthusiast.
"You
burn a lot of calories," agrees
Eileen Gonzalez.

want to be asked out. So what
should you do? Call her
and say something direct – like
“I think you’re great. Would you
like to have dinner on Friday?”
Women like to know their being
asked on a date because it makes
them feel special. So skip the
vague hints and just ask.
And be confident – but not
too confident. Women
instantly weed out guys who pile
on the too-suave one-liners
because it makes you seem
rehearsed. In other words, they
assume you’ve asked out so
many women, that you have
your “will you go out with me”
speech down pat.
