Dear Dancers,
 It's the
3rd Week of September. New beginners should start
on Tues, Sept 30 or Mon, Oct 1. This week
concludes with the Platinum Party in NYC...a combination
of the best of West Coast Swing and Hustle...and it also
has a free lesson. Then I head out on my first
camping trip ever. That's right!, I bought a tent,
a sleeping bag and a head lamp...and I'm bringing Anna
so that someone can protect me.
 But
NEXT WEEK...special guest Silvana enters the picture!
She is one of the most amazing Hustle dancers I've ever
seen. "Early Bird" discounts have expired...but
regular discounts apply (save $17.6%). There's a
great list of workshops (for beg to adv) followed by a
party where you'll see Silvana tear it up...if you're
lucky enough, you'll get to dance with her too.

Protect Yourself Against Fraud: |
|
 Many
people are worried about paying online for dance stuff (events,
pre-registration, tickets, shoes, etc).
Even safe sites, such as PayPal, scare
people but it's 2008 and it's difficult to avoid paying for
things online. Plus many discounts are offered if you
pre-register early via online payments.
Erik's Advice:
Get a new credit card with a low limit
(like $100). That way you can make online purchases with
minimal worry about someone charging your life away.
It's an easy way to protect yourself
against credit card fraud and limits your exposure....best part,
you can adjust the limit to your comfort level.

Pre-Register and Save Money: |
 Many
events offer discounts if you pre-register/pay.
Fact: Paying at the door can cost
20-50% more than the "early-bird" rates.
Fact: Many smaller events may
even cancel their functions if minimum pre-registration amounts
can not be achieved.
Fact: The stress level of event
director, promoter, guest instructor, hosting facility is
inversely proportional to the amount of pre-registered
attendees.
