West Coast Swing

Kim has been dancing since Kindergarten, taking tap, jazz and ballet after school every year until graduating high school. While in college, she discovered Country Line Dancing (and caught a glimpse of what she later found out was West Coast Swing). After Line Dancing for 10 years, she started learning West Coast Swing. In 2007 she discovered Erik’s classes and has had near perfect attendance ever since! In 2008, Kim also began learning Hustle from Erik.

Dancing has become a part of Kim’s life, not just a hobby. It has kept her healthy, in mind and body, and has been in integral part in her becoming a more independent and confident person. Above all, the people she has met because of dancing has been the best asset, resulting in some very close friends and a Fiancé.

Starting off in the competition world, Kim took 4th place at her first Jack & Jill in January 2008. She competed in the rising star division, took 6th at one of the largest events in the country, and was in the intermediate division by the end of the year. She has already taken a first place in intermediate.

Besides dancing West Coast Swing, Hustle and Country Line, Kim is also an avid hiker, and enjoys crafts, photography and traveling. In late-2010, Kim became an independent consultant for The Pampered Chef, the premier direct seller of high-quality kitchen tools.
