Michael Rogers
I started listening to contemporary R&B music by performers that I had never heard of before and to my surprise I liked many of them. Then there was the dance itself that could be slow and sexy, smooth and sophisticated. At the same time, the dance could have a freedom of expression not often seen with other dances. 2 1/2 years later, I’m still going strong, thanks to great teachers like Erik and the expanding social dance community.
Dance and all the friends I made over the past 5 1/2 years have added a new and wonderful dimension to my life. The entire dance network has helped to open me up socially and the joy that dance gives me is hard to express. Everything considered, I couldn’t imagine ever being without it. Whether it is rumba, foxtrot, hustle, west coast swing, etc., when the music moves me in some way, I want to dance.
